A Busy Weekend!!

What a busy weekend! It was busy, but certainly full of fun! Last weekend I was l-a-z-y, so this busy weekend was welcomed since I didn't do much of anything last weekend!

The fun started Friday night by going to dinner for my friend Jessica's 25th birthday! We went to Texas Roadhouse and then Dayna and I brought Krispy Kreme back to Audra and Jessica's apartment for dessert.

Saturday we had plans to go to Sea World. Dayna brought a previous student of her's as a very special reward for hard work this school year. It was fun to experience a theme park through the eyes of a 9 year old who had never been before!

Tickets in hand, they're ready to go!

We're so happy that teachers get in FREE to Sea World! :)

Photo opp by the penguins! (Unfortunately the penguin exhibit is under construction, so these were the only "penguins" we saw!)

We did get to see Shamu though!

I absolutely love watching the whale and dolphin shows. It's so fascinating to me!

We also went through the shark tank and saw many types of fish, sharks, eels and stingrays!

Where to next??

We headed to do some rides. Our group was split- half rode rollercoasters, the other half did not. It worked out nicely! I did join the adventurous crew on the ride Atlantis, though. I just don't do upside-down rollercoasters. This was a water ride with two big drop downs! I can feel the thrill in my stomach now just typing it. Ha!

We got wet! This is us standing in the "family dryer" that costs $3. Can you say rip-off? We just stood in there for the picture, but we figured the sun would do just as good of a job drying us off, for free. :)

Our day at Sea World was hot but lots of fun! There is always a lot to do and see, including people-watching. Haha. After Sea World, my friend Shaundra who went with us had invited us to her house for dinner. Her husband smoked some ribs and chicken and it was delicious! It was the perfect ending to a fun, long, hot, tiring day!

Today, I went to a surprise birthday party for my friend Jessica that was being thrown for her by her family. We didn't stay too long, but it was fun to go and "surprise" her. She wasn't too surprised when she saw Audra's car in the driveway, though. Better planning next time, right?

Happy 25th, Jessica!

A fun weekend it was! Now begins another work-week, only six weeks left in this school year!

High Five for Friday

Today I'm linking up with Lauren at From My Grey Desk.

Here are my favorite things from this past week:

On my drive home from work Monday, I felt like cooking. (That's rare that I get that feeling, you know.) I needed chicken breasts so I had to stop by the grocery store. I was in the mood for chocolate of some sort and picked up some Brownies. I posted on Facebook that on nights that I "go through the hassle" of cooking, I might as well bake, too!

During outside reading time today, I had the pleasure of watching this little girl play with sticks, when she was supposed to be reading. She's not my student, she was with my class though for a little while. I love watching kids' be in their own little world (except when I'm trying to teach them, of course.)

I absolutely adore this text my sister sent me this week. Apparently my dad has a serious commitment to Wheel of Fortune. ;) I love my dad!

I loved getting to play with this little sweetie, my coworker's daughter, Sophia. Isn't she so sweet?

The highlight of the week was looking forward to Friday night's dinner for Jessica's 25th birthday! We went to Texas Roadhouse and talked for hours, like always. It was a fun night! More pictures to come soon!

Sea World tomorrow....time for bed! TGIF!!!

Photo Dump

Here's a photo dump of various pictures from the past few weeks. Nothing crazy-exciting.
This past Thursday was Parent Night at school, and since only 6 parents came out of the 20 students I have in my class, I was able to completely clean and straighten up my desk. I feel like a brand new woman. Ha!
This was our 2nd Annual Adult Easter Egg Hunt at my friend Audra's grandmother's house. When you don't have your own children yet to take to an Easter Egg Hunt, you make your own. Or at least we do. :)
Outside ready to go!
Audra's older brother helped hide the eggs for us. He was so creative and used mulch to give us a clue as to where an egg was hiding.
On Good Friday, Dayna and I went to Sarasota. We went to a circus show (totally missed my own sister being in it this year!!), went to Dino's Pizza, got pedicures, and colored Easter Eggs! It's a tradition I will never stray from. :)
Colorful eggs!
Last Friday after work, some co-workers/friends and I went out to dinner, and then Dayna and Jessica had their hearts set on going to Goodwill. So we went...and this is only a small glimpse into their crazyness that night!
Random people/shoppers soon caught on to the fact that this was just for fun and a big laugh session. Except for one lady, who genuinely complimented Jessica's outfit. Ha! Jessica and Dayna bought some of what they tried on, and I hear they're going to be making a YouTube video soon?? {I'll be sure and post it here if their plan goes through!} Ha. Happy Saturday!

Overdue Update

My blogging has been on the back burner lately. Lots going on. Not a whole lot of pictures to make an exciting post. Here is a snapshot of what I've been up to the past month, in bulleted list form:

In the past few weeks, I have...

-tried Shellac on my nails for the first time {expensive and not sure if it's worth doing again?}
-administered FCAT Tests {3 down, 3 more to go!}
-driven to Sarasota to spend Easter with my family {what a good day it was!}
-continued to neglect my need for a haircut {well, just a trim is all I want, but I need one, bad!}
-dubbed my class a miniature "soap opera" {like, it could be called As the World Turns in Kaliher's Class- the drama is that good ridiculous!}
-taught my students how to make string bracelets; the kind with cheap string that were popular to make and "sell" in the 90s {so much fun...even as an adult!}
-attempted to de-clutterrearrange the den in my apartment into an office {I know I won't be able to complete it the way I want to until summer, so it's hard to get motivated}
-officially decided that I hate my alarm clock {there comes a point in the school year where I just get so tired of the 6:00 a.m. wake-up calls}
-played Scramble With Friends and Draw Something a million times {you can say I'm addicted!}
-went wedding dress shopping with a good friend! {for her of course, not for me......YET!}
-took my car for an oil change {it was long overdue!}
-been saddened at the news of Dick Clark's death {New Years Eve will never be the same!}
-went to a Premier Jewlery Party {fun, girly-girl kind of night!}

It's exciting when the feeling comes that the school year is in fact winding down. That feeling is here. It's mid-April now; we get out June 7th (I think.) We're in the middle of our big FCAT testing and then we've got field trips, field days, nurse lessons, research books to make, Science Fair and other types of end-of-the-year festivities. Needless to say, it gets real busy! I miss blogging though and hopefully can get back into the routine of it soon!
